STS email Clarifications

STS emails (and any attachments) are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. If you are not the intended recipient do not disclose or copy this email. Please contact the sender immediately by replying to the message and delete all copies on your system. The message is attributed to the sender and may not necessarily reflect the view of STS. Whilst we have taken reasonable precautions to ensure that any attachment to emails have been checked for viruses, STS cannot accept liability for any damage sustained as a result of software viruses and would advise that you carry out your own virus checks before opening any attachments.

General Installation Clarifications

  1. Our price is based on normal working hours (0730-1630) Mon to Fri. We have made no allowance for overtime, shift or weekend working.
  2. We have made no allowance for the provision of any site establishment, welfare and messing facilities and assume these will be provided by others for our use as required. We exclude site office facilities and assume that suitable provision will be made available to our team free of charge.
  3. We have made no allowance for any delays and would expect reasonable access always.
  4. We include clearing waste to skips provided on each floor by others for its disposal – we exclude removal to central point or from site.
  5. Panel and equipment protection will be Cordex sheet.
  6. We exclude all builder’s work, removal or replacement of building fabric elements, cutting holes (greater than 50mm blockwork or 100mm stud wall), core drilling, making good, painting, cable ducting or draw wires.
  7. We exclude provision of fixed scaffolding, craneage, hoisting or powered lifting attendances / banksman.
  8. We have included for the provision of our own access equipment up to working heights of 3m max.
  9. We exclude fire stopping, fire compartmentation, fire rated enclosures, fire rated isolators and acoustic stopping.
  10. We exclude working with, removal and handling of asbestos related material.
  11. We exclude removal, making good and replacement of thermal insulation.
  12. We exclude supplementary earth bonding to other services.
  13. We exclude attendance on other parties unless stated in Section 2.0 above.
  14. We exclude dedicated attendance during BMS commissioning and witnessing/testing.
  15. We exclude provision of Appointed Person, Permit to Work or special security / access passes.
  16. We exclude continuous site attendance or full time non-working supervision unless stated in Section 2.0 above.
  17. We exclude installation / wiring of Packaged Units, Leak Detection, Secondary Isolators, Multi-Array Motors, Inverters, Thyristors, Meter Calculators, Multi-Face Actuators, Remote Terminal Unit Controls or Network Cards unless stated in Section 2.0 above.
  18. Where described to extend/interface existing systems – we have made no allowance for any shortcomings or defects with the existing installation or equipment.
  19. We exclude “Strip-out”, “Modifications”, “Future” or “On-Hold” unless stated in Section 2.0 above.
  20. Our allowance is for STS standard materials unless stated in Section 2.0 above.

General Control Panel Clarifications

  1. Our price is based on normal working hours (0730-1630) Mon to Fri. We have made no allowance for overtime, shift or weekend working.
  2. FORM 1, 2 & “Hybrid” control panels / enclosures will be manufactured in accordance STS Limited Standard Construction Specification – copy available on request – and clarifications noted in this submission.
  3. FORM 4 LV power switchgear and control gear assemblies will be manufactured in accordance with BS EN 61439-2 in conjunction with General Rules BS EN 61439-1.
  4. All control equipment is to be free issued to our Fleet Office.
  5. Any delivery/lead times quoted assume all items of equipment and materials to be Free Issued by you are available at our Maidstone Office prior to commencement of panel manufacture.
  6. All floor standing enclosures finish to be as specified, wall mounted control panel enclosures finish to be RAL7035 and to be metalwork thickness as follows; floor standing 2.0mm body, 2.0mm door; wall mounted 1.5mm body, 1.5mm door.
  7. We exclude GRP and/or weatherproof enclosures unless stated in Section 2 above.
  8. We exclude kWh electrical meters, CT’s, ammeters or voltmeters unless stated in Section 2 above.
  9. We exclude internal panel lighting unless stated in Section 2 above.
  10. We exclude panel rubber mats.
  11. Where electrical details have not been supplied, we have assumed a maximum power rating of 3ph 5.5kw.
  12. We include lamp test pushbutton circuit and standard LED lamps (not individual self-test indicators).
  13. We include double RCD socket for engineering laptop use in every control panel.
  14. Allowance for enclosure and wireway space spare capacity provision is generally 20%. 
  15. Allowance for field terminal rail / spare I/O channels provision is generally 20% wired to terminals. 
  16. All inverters are assumed to be field mounted.
  17. No allowance has been made for LSZH cabling – all cables to be standard tri-rated construction.
  18. No allowance has been made for LSZH trunking – all trunking to be standard PVC construction.
  19. We include suitable packing using bubble wrap or similar – we exclude site specific packing requirements.
  20. We exclude flash tests unless stated in Section 2 above.
  21. All panels to be delivered to site entrance (Ground Floor).
  22. We include delivery via suitable transport (flatbed truck, hi-ab or panel van).
  23. We exclude offloading or positioning (unless site electrical installation works are by STS).
  24. We exclude splitting and site re-connection unless stated in Section 2 above.
  25. We have made no allowance for any delays and would expect reasonable productivity/sequencing.
  26. We exclude surge suppression or harmonic filter units.
  27. We exclude supply and/or fitting of Inverter, Thyristor and UPS units unless stated in Section 2 above.
  28. We have made no allowance for any items detailed as “Modifications”, “Future” or “On-Hold” or wiring of unused IO channels unless stated in Section 2 above.
  29. Where described to extend/interface/modify existing systems – we have made no allowance for any shortcomings or defects with the existing installation or equipment.
  30. Our warranty obligations only apply to new works undertaken by us.
